Frequently Asked Questions

What is RCCP?

  • We call our high school apologetics mentoring and training program for churches Ratio Christi College Prep. The program is available in two levels:

(1) RC Network. Join the premier apologetics network worldwide. This level includes access to our online store where you can sign up for our bi-weekly newsletter for apologetics news, articles, videos, activities, training, certificates, RC accessories and partner resources. It also includes direct access to an RC Apologist for questions and discussion.

(2) RC Staff Apologist. Access an academically trained RC apologist for a fraction of the cost of a staff resource. This level has two options designed with church budget limits in mind as well as RC apologist proximity availability for in person or remote support.

  • We then train volunteer adults from your church to mentor high school youth, implement and oversee an ongoing program to engrain apologetics with youth in your church and even expand to the church staff, youth parents and congregation. Your RC staff apologist guides, mentors, supports and monitors your RC College Prep program initially and ongoing. Where possible they will be in geographical proximity. If not they will support remotely by phone, electronic communications, skype and video conference.

Why should my church be interested in RCCP?

  • Gain access to the largest global apologetics network for training, articles and resources as well as direct access to an RC Apologist for questions
  • Access industry leading curriculum, certificates, articles and materials at a 10-20% retail discount
  • Secure a trained Christian apologist assigned to your church very affordably
  • Teach your high school youth how to know Christianity is true and defend their faith
  • Ensure that the church investment in high school youth results in Christians who maintain their faith and know why they believe
  • Create a future of families that will need the church and stay involved
  • Enhance the success of the church long-term
  • Influence adult mentors in the church to be more involved to help Christian youth and in outreach
  • Receive bi-weekly apologetics articles, training, videos and teaching

Do I need to be an apologetics expert?

  • No but you need some basic knowledge. RCCP provides a mentor training certificate program that will prepare you sufficiently to lead the services implementation, assisted and mentored in turn by one of the RCC assigned trained academic apologists.

What would my role be as mentor?

There are several key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate/implement the RCCP documented implementation plan
  • Encourage and promote youth participants to the RCCP program
  • Act as liaison to the RCC assigned apologist for questions, needs and issues.
  • Solicit support and participation from the church staff and congregation.
  • Be an ambassador within the church for apologetics and the RCCP program
  • Coordinate RCCP youth and parents to join an RC club at their selected university

How do we implement RCCP?

  • For Level 1 – RCCP Network, please complete an application on our web site at RCCP Application
  • For Level 2 – RC Apologist, please complete our application at RCCP Application .

Is there a cost to the church?

  • Yes. For Level 1 – RCCP Network, there is a $10/mo. donation request.
  • For Level 2 – RCCP Apologist, there are two options: Gold Program (the highest level of RCCP services and benefits) - $600 per quarter; Maroon Program (basic level of RCCP services and benefits) - $300 per quarter. (Please note there is a limited time no cost introductory first year offer for Gold and Maroon available for 90 days. In addition, there are costs associated with ordering t-shirts, mugs, accessories, etc from the RC online store. (link to RC store?) RCCP Affiliated churches receive a 10-20%  Level 2 discount for some RC store items such as training certified programs, annual symposium fees, RC accessories and other RC partner offerings.

How long does it take to get implemented?

  • It should take about 4-8 weeks to implement the program including mentor training and youth participant training.

Is there a minimum number of youth needed to participate?

  • Practically, we would recommend at least six but 10-20 would be ideal. This might vary somewhat based on church size. Also, based on the donation, the church may have a requirement for participants to justify the investment.

How long does it last?

  • The implementation will be 4-6 weeks. However, the program of services supplied by and coordinated through your RCCP assigned apologist is planned to be for a year at a time and renewable annually with the intent to be an ongoing critical church program for the youth and even beyond for the youth parents and church congregation through speakers and other activities.

Does someone from RCCP help me with the implementation?

  • Yes. Each RCCP implementation will involve an assigned RC resource who is an academically trained apologist. If possible, this person will be geographically located nearest to your church or will be actively involved through remote conference calls, email communications and online presentations.

What do I get with the Level 2 – RCCP Apologist program?

Whose involvement from my church is needed?

  • This may vary somewhat by church size and staff and management organization. But minimally the youth pastor and volunteer mentors for RCCP, a group of youth participants and to some degree their parents (at least awareness), senior pastor and/or executive pastor for program approval and donation allocation, and a facilities person to help coordinate meeting space and availability.

Do I need to travel somewhere for training?

  • No. The mentor training and certification program is an online content program. (coming soon)

Is the apologetics training available directly from RCCP?

  • Initially the mentor training is an online certification through RCCP. The youth training is available through several partner DVD curriculum options. By late 2018 or early 2019 RCCP plans availability of our own online certification program by individual that may take 6-8 ways to complete.

Does the program provide any certifications useful for the future?

  • Yes, the RCCP program provides a certification for all mentors and certifications for all youth participants.

How do we stay involved after RCCP implementation?

  • After implementation, there remains a variety of ongoing services for either RCCP program selected, such as our newsletters and emails with articles, additional training offerings, speaker and conference events, etc. You can discuss and coordinate and decide upon what is best for your program with your RCCP assigned apologist.

Is there something for the parents and other congregation?

  • Yes. The newsletter and email services will provide apologetics knowledge, articles, videos, event notification and attendance so that there are a variety of ways to engage in apologetics ongoing, both for the youth but also parents, church senior staff, Sunday school teachers, and congregation members.

What do I do about ongoing questions and issues upon implementation?

  • All questions will be directed to your RCCP assigned apologist.
