Bio

Daniël Maritz was born in a small town called Mokopane in South Africa. After primary school his family moved to Pretoria where he finished high school. From there he went to Potchefstroom to study theology and it is also here where he got involved with Ratio Christi. He married Ansie in Potchefstroom and they are married for nearly three years now. He is currently a pastor in the Reformed Churches of South Africa and Chapter Director for Ratio Christi at the University of Pretoria.

Testimony

Daniël Maritz grew up in a Christian home. His parents exposed him to the importance of church ever since he can remember. It is because of his parents's commitment to church and Christianity that Daniël never experienced a major crisis of faith. As he approached the end of high school he felt the Lord calling him to full-time ministry. Following this calling he went to Potchefstroom to study Theology at the North-West University to become a pastor in the Reformed Churches of South Africa. During his years of study at the university he got involved with Ratio Christi and developed a real interest in apologetics and the vision and mission of this ministry. The great evidences for the Christian faith only strengtened his faith and encouraged him to be more involved with Ratio Christi. At this point the Lord opened a door through the Reformed Church Brooklyn who expressed their need for apologetics and also the similarities between Ratio Christi and their ministryfocus. The Reformed Church Brooklyn accordingly called Daniël to be a pastor and they also gave him the explicit mandate to run the Ratio Christi chapter at the University of Pretoria. Daniël and his wife, Ansie, are both really interested in theology and apologetics and praise God for all the ministry opputunities that He has given them.
