Bio

Darren Williams received a PhD in chemistry from Oregon State University in 1998 and a BS in chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992. He began his academic career at West Texas A&M University (1997–2001) and continued it at Sam Houston State University (2004–present). The interim was spent in industry at BWXT Pantex in Amarillo, Texas (2001–2004). Dr. Williams has applied infrared and Raman spectroscopy to polymer-bound explosive analysis, to surface analysis, and to cleaning verification. Lately, his interests have turned to solvent blend modeling, formulation, and analysis as it relates to industrial cleaning of medical devices, aerospace components, and printed circuit boards. He has published over two dozen articles and book chapters. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering, and he is the faculty advisor for the J. C. Stallings’ Chemical Society and chapter director for Ratio Christi at Sam Houston State University.

Testimony

Dr. Williams family still attends St Andrew's Episcopal Church where he was raised and baptised at the age of 12. He attended the University Baptist Church with his friends while at The University of Texas at Austin from 1987 until he graduated in 1992 just before the drastic changes that beset that congregation.  While at Oregon State University and in anticipation of his future spouse's wishes he began attending the Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Corvallis, OR.  This varied and diverse background has allowed Dr. Williams to study and experience many different theological perspectives and denominational distinctives.

He is convinced that Christianity best describes reality based upon two miracles with vast evidential support. These are the resurrection of Jesus and the creation of the universe ex nihilo. For more information on his Christian convictions, visit his blog apologetics4all.com, specifically the entry "What I believe and why".

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." C. S. Lewis

Education

Dr. Williams is originally from Fort Worth, TX.  He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin (1992), and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Physical Chemistry from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon (1997).
