(20 minutes to 90 minutes) This is our testimony to Jesus interspersed with doctrinal differences between Biblical Christianity and Mormonism. Anywhere from 20 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on what works for your church or organization. The longer options have more doctrinal comparisons that we discovered when reading the Bible and include at least one Question & Answer session. For long sessions, we add Q&As every 20 minutes or so.
(20-30 minutes) We present and discuss the false christ, false gospel, false apostle Scriptures from the Bible and the signs and warnings about a false Christ from Scripture. This presentation is about 20-30 minutes and is good for Sunday morning services or Sunday school. We sometimes combine a short testimony with this presentation for an hour presentation.
We walk listeners through the plan of salvation according to Mormonism and the Biblical Jesus’ plan. Then, without disrespecting LDS beliefs, we explain the purpose of LDS temple and explain the ordinances that happen there and why. Michael and I worked in an LDS temple for 10 years. We compare and contrast the LDS temple with the biblical temple pattern and the Scripture, “One greater than the temple is here.”
(60-90 minutes) This presentation is based on our 7 Reasons book and covers 7 doctrinal differences that caused us to rethink Mormonism. Some are: Book of Mormon is the correct book on the face of the earth, LDS believe in continuing revelation to prophets, salvation requires human effort and LDS temples, marriage is for this life and the next, and the LDS church is the only true church. We present Bible Scripture that teaches the opposite of each of these.
(60-90 minutes) This presentation points out major doctrinal differences and gives suggestions for inviting, loving, and teaching LDS missionaries and members.
Lynn and Michael travel and speak at churches and colleges and other venues.
We speak for free but often churches pay our travel to and from the venue and put us up when we are in town. Some churches take up a love offering. Some give a stipend. However, nothing is expected. We are grateful to tell God’s story.
We simply need a long table to set up in the foyer with books and free materials and may ask you to run off handouts.
Choose one or more time periods. Sometimes churches bring us in for a weekend to hear our testimony and to teach. Sometimes colleges arrange events more than one day.
