Bio

As Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, I am accountable to insure every campus around the world successfully accomplishes everything that the Lord expects from them. I am responsible to develop an infrastructure that will serve Ratio Christi as a world class operation, rivaling the best college ministries while setting the standard for Christian Apologetics, optimally delivered to young people around the world.

This system must insure that each Chapter Director on campuses around the globe has the tools necessary to facilitate proficiency in Christian Apologetics, allowing them to effectively multiply apologists through discipleship, training, mentoring, and developing a core group of students on their campus to become mature and capable apologetic leaders who impact their university and influence society with Christian values as they go on to establish careers. Success is measured as each RC Apologetic Club matures and this core team begins training other students, who then train other students, creating a ripple effect of intrinsic systemic growth.

There has never been a time in human history when there has been more scientific, philosophical, archeological and historical evidence supporting Christianity than today. Scripture provides an elegant and intellectually satisfying solution to modern scientific conundrums. The reasons for investigating the truth claims of Christianity have never been more compelling, necessitating a rigorous intellectual discussion at the university.

If we train just 2 university students in 1 year, and each of those students each train 2 more the following year, and we do this at every university where Ratio Christi has a club, in 10 years we will have an army of 1 Million apologetically trained young adults defending Christianity around the world!

We hope to ignite the next Great Awakening by initiating a Renaissance of Christian thinking in the University and we intend change the culture on campus to one that respects Christians as valued intellectual pillars in the college community, rational defenders of Christianity who demonstrate personal integrity and use well-reasoned thought to defend and uphold the truth of the Bible.

I am honored to join forces with the dedicated Ratio Christi Team. Like Caleb (Num. 13:30-14:9), I resolutely refuse to lose hope even though the land is full of "giants". Our God will deliver us! We will overcome! But we each must do our part to engage skeptics using all of our gifts and abilities in our efforts to reclaim the mind for Christ at the university.

”A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken” Ecc. 4:12. We can be victorious together, but not by sitting on the sidelines hoping things will someday change. Our enemies hope you remain idle, comfortably watching from a safe distance; instead, break out, get involved in the struggle, join us as we claim this victory for Christ!

Testimony

A friend one day asked me where I would go if I were to die tomorrow. I responded that I thought that I had done enough good things in my life that after my time in Purgatory, I’d end up in Heaven. Next he asked if I was a Christian. Somewhat surprised I replied in the affirmative and that I knew Jesus was the Son of God. He then explained that Satan knew Jesus was the Son of God, so knowing Who He is isn’t enough. I hadn’t thought of that and needed some time to ponder that logical conundrum. Meanwhile I continued to study my Bible, ultimately concluding that my Catholic sacraments of Confirmation and Communion were not the same as having a personal relationship with God, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit for my life.

I discovered that God loves everyone (1 John 4:16 “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love.”) Also that He has a wonderful plan for every person’s life (Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago”). However, sin prevents us from discovering God’s plan, causing us to consistently miss the mark of God’s expectations (Romans 3:23 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”) Our sin is so bad to God that we are condemned and stand dead before God because of it (Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord”). The good news is God made a provision to restore us through Jesus (Romans 5:18b “Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone”); Jesus offers us new life and restores our relationship which has been broken by our sins. Paul stated, “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). We cannot earn this new life, somehow working our way into God’s good graces, qualifying ourselves for entry into Heaven (Romans 4:5 “But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.”) So God freely gives this gift to anyone who wants it, but not to those who think they deserve it (Romans 11:6 “And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.”)

According to (1 Corinthians 15:3 “Christ died for our sins”), but why would He do that? So our sin wouldn’t keep us separated from God (1 John 2:2 “He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins.”) He died to restore our relationship with God that was broken by our sin (1 Peter 3:18 “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God.”) But how can we know this for sure? Because He promised to come back to life to prove He was God! (John 10:18 “No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again.”) Jesus claimed to have the power lay down His life and take it up again, proving to us that He can do whatever He promises. When Jesus makes a promise, you can believe Him!

The good news is that Jesus rose from the dead, proving that He was the Son of God! Jesus promised that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life in Heaven. (John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”) Believing in Jesus changes our positional status before God, we become adopted as God’s children. Jesus restores our relationship to God, repairing the damage caused by our sin, paying for our sins as the perfect atoning sacrifice. (John 5:24 ““I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.”) But Jesus made it clear that salvation is only available through believing in Him (John 4:16 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” Luke echoed this saving truth. (Acts 4:12 “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”)

God affirms His love for each of us by making it simple, but each of us must decide individually if we want to accept God’s offer of grace. If you believe in Jesus through faith alone, accepting His free gift, He promises you will live forever with Him in Paradise. (Ephesians 2:8-9 “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”) We cannot earn salvation, like we somehow deserve it. God seeks us and shows how much He loves us through this free gift, hoping we’ll choose to enter into an everlasting relationship with Him.

Discovering the difference between the intellectual assent that Jesus is God, and the acceptance of God’s unmerited and undeserved grace, I received God’s free gift at a “Max Man” conference in 1990. I married my girlfriend in 1991 and since that time we have both been actively involved in church ministry. We have grown together maturing our faith by applying verses like Philippians 2:12 "Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear" to our lives, becoming trained financial counselors or coaches with Christian Financial Concepts (Larry Burkett’s ministry) including training in marriage counseling. Since that time I have counseled hundreds of couples, teaching them what the Bible says about handling money, helping them build a family budget, and I’ve also taught many weekend seminars and workshops on what the Bible says about money. Applying biblical principles from the beginning of our marriage, we have lived debt free for over 20 years.

I am a conservative evangelical, practical, logical, and scientifically oriented, having an engineering career that moved us from Florida to Jew Jersey to California. I have been a long-time volunteer apologist with Reasons To Believe, a scientific think-tank devoted to showing how modern scientific discoveries concord with Scripture and I am convinced that the scientific evidence supports the biblical claims that God created our biosphere amidst the universe to provide a suitable habitat for His crowning creation, Human Beings created in His image.

I am proficient in scientific apologetics and enjoy teaching how the Bible concords with the record of science. It is fascinating that the truth of Scripture so neatly fits within the record of natural world we can see, touch, measure and evaluate. God reveals himself through His written Word, but also through His creation, to such an extent that Paul declared in Romans 1:18-25 that we are completely without excuse for not knowing Him. Nature provides one of the most potent apologetic arguments supporting the creation account as described literally in the Word of God and I affirm the statements found in the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy.
