Chapter Director | Bradley University

< Back to People

Ryan is a native of Peoria Heights, IL and was raised in a Baptist church.  He then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Illinois where he attained his B.S.. in Business Marketing in 2007 and his MBA with a specialization in International Business and Globalization in 2008.  While in his MBA program Ryan also completed a semester abroad in Grenoble, France where he focused on international business.  Upon completing his MBA he moved back to the Peoria area and worked for his families catering company/ restaurant for five years.  During the first 3 years Ryan went back to school and completed culinary art school and also received an associates in restaurant management.  It was in the last two years that Ryan felt his 60-80hr work weeks were separating him from God and he yearned for a revived focus.  While running a large restaurant he then enrolled in a Masters degree program at Lincoln Christian University in Bible and Theology. Towards the end of this program the restaurant was forced to close its doors and what seemed to be a disaster turned into a blessing as Ryan was now able to serve God in various ministries.

Upon graduating in August of 2014 Ryan then completed elder/leadership training at his home church and joined the leadership team in launching a new Saturday night service geared toward college aged and young adults.  Ryan’s heart was always drawn towards reaching the students at Bradley University, but wasn’t having much success with attempts on campus.  It was after months of prayer that he was approached by a family friend about Ratio Christi and God miraculously matched His purpose with the yearning that was placed in Ryan’s heart.

Testimony

I was raised in the Church, but didn’t choose to attend and make God priority until my first year of my MBA program.  It was at this time that I found myself in trouble and was crying out to God.  I then turned to God and it was here that my life changed.  I have spent the last eight years allowing Christ to free me from addictions and priming me to be a great witness for Him.  I still have a great way to go, but I am getting easier to groom than I was when I started this journey.  All glory to God!  I still am amazed that God wants to use me and I feel privledged.
