Terry received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Guilford College and Wheaton College (Illinois). His MBA came from UNC Greensboro. After those degrees he worked several years in wholesale food distribution and later went into the family business of North Carolina barbeque restaurants. He is retired, living in Forest, Virginia and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Terry was with the Ratio Christi Board early on and supported the original chapter at Appalachian State.
