Symposia Christi

The Symposium is an annual event held at Purdue University drawing thousands from the campus, community, and surrounding region. Led by multiple campus ministries and churches, its purpose is to explore and debate some of the most probing questions about faith, reason, and life via panel discussions, lectures, and debates.

Past Purdue University symposium keynote speakers and themes include:

  • 2014 – John Hare (Professor of Philosophical Theology at Yale): “Human Dignity, Slavery, and Sex Trafficking” *Hare will dialogue with Michael Ruse (Professor of Philosophy at Florida State University) on the issue over which worldview best accounts for and provides motivation for our commonly held moral beliefs and sentiments concerning radical social injustice: Christianity or atheism?
