Are Near-Death Experiences (NDE) a hoax or can they be a valid argument against naturalism and materialism? In this presentation Stuart Gray argues that NDE research is now mature enough that philosophers and apologists can comfortably appeal to the data and draw conclusions from it. About the Presenter:
Stuart H. Gray is a freelance writer in the technology sector. He has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde. He also achieved a Diploma of Higher Education in Theology from the University of Gloucestershire. More recently, he received Highest Honors in the Master’s Degree in Christian Apologetics and the Master’s in Science and Religion at BIOLA University. His thesis was entitled “Deathbed Visions: The Development of a Christian Apologetic Argument and An Assessment of Naturalistic Counterarguments.” Alongside J Steve Miller, he co-edits the Evangelical Philosophical Society’s Web Project called “Philosophical Issues in ‘Afterlife Apologetics’.” He is currently writing a book arguing that many common deathbed experiences support the truth of a Christian view of death and the afterlife.
